👤 About the Founder: My Journey Behind tlcHero
My name is Tashi Tsering Sherpa—originally from Nepal and a proud NYC TLC-licensed driver since 2015. Over the years, I’ve driven both Yellow Cabs and rideshare vehicles, experiencing the same frustrations and challenges that thousands of New York City drivers face every day. From confusing regulations and unfair tickets to unpredictable income and long hours on the road, I lived through it all. And as a tech enthusiast, I always felt there had to be a better way.
The idea for tlcHero came directly from my own daily struggles and the stories I heard from other drivers. I wanted to build something practical, transparent, and truly helpful—a digital “Hero” that gives drivers back their time, money, and peace of mind. tlcHero wasn’t created as just another app; it was created as an advocate for the hardworking drivers who keep NYC moving.

Transparency & Data: I built tlcHero to simplify a complicated industry. With clear tools for managing TLC tickets, understanding regulations, and accessing driver insights, my goal is to empower drivers with the information they deserve.
Community: I believe strongly in unity and support. Features like the Kura community posts and in-app moderation reflect my commitment to building a space where drivers can learn from each other, offer advice, and never feel isolated.
